Are zero-carbon flights possible?

Detailed plans have been released for a passenger airplane that could carry 279 people which would be powered by liquid hydrogen.The FlyZero project is being led by the Aerospace Technology Institute and partly developed in Cranfield. They say the plane will be able to fly the same speed as other airliners. The liquid hydrogen would be stored in tanks at about -250C with water being produced as the only waste product.
