Turner Prize, BOSS and Sisters in Dub

CWR Breakfast with Phil Upton

Available for over a year

The Turner exhibtion is being held at The Herbert Museum and Art Gallery during Coventry's year as UK City of Culture. One of the five artist collectives nominated for the Turner Prize is BOSS (Black Obsidian Sound System), they have been celebrating Sound Systems. Sound Systems came to the UK after the Windrush generation and were popular in Coventry. As part of Coventry's year of Culture, Sound System culture has been celebrated, with a live link up with Coventry and twin city Kingston Jamaica, with artists performing live in both cities together. Someone who was a key part of that night was DJ Kat from Sisters in Dub. Sisters in Dub have been working with BOSS as part of the Turner exhibition.
