Downton Abbey creator Lord Julian Fellowes backs campaign to display unseen Thomas Hardy items

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

Downton Abbey creator, and Dorset resident, Lord Julian Fellowes is backing a campaign to display previously unseen items belonging to the Victorian novelist Thomas Hardy. A £5,000 crowdfunding appeal has been launched to help pay for specialist work, ahead of an exhibition of Hardy objects at four museums next summer - including in Dorchester and Poole. It'll be the largest collection of Hardy items ever displayed at one time. Our reporter Charlotte Foot has been for a look at some of them with exhibition curator Harriet Still and Lord Fellowes.
