Hundreds turn out to run 5km with fitness coach Joe Wicks in Bournemouth

Available for over a year

Over five hundred people turned out at Bournemouth pier for a five kilometre run with Joe Wicks along the seafront. The popular fitness guru, TV presenter and author had announced his visit the previous day on social media. Joe told BBC Radio Solent that his dad used to live in Boscombe, and he spent a lot of his childhood in the area. He confirmed it was his biggest 'meet-up' since his hugely popular 'PE with Joe' online streams during lockdown which attracted a record number of viewers. A fortnight ago, Joe celebrated his 36th birthday in Dorset, but he had to be rescued on the water when his jet board got into difficulty close to Durdle Door and Lulworth. BBC Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman put on his running kit to join Joe on the run along with hundreds of fans.
