Conjoined twins separated 20 years ago

Elise Evans on BBC Radio WM

Available for over a year

In December 2001, an operation took place in the West Midlands to separate three-month-old conjoined twins, Sanchia and Eman Mowatt from Birmingham. It was a remarkable day at Birmingham Children's Hospital as this was the first time such an operation had been carried out in the UK and only the third time in the world. The girls have celebrated their 20th birthdays and to mark the landmark this year they've been raising money for the Birmingham Children's Hospital.
