Independent musicians, performers and artists were invited to apply to be part of the Terry Hall Home Sessions. A four day music event in the summer across three venues including Coventry Cathedral and its Cathedral Ruins. Out of the 25 performers that applied, 15 were selected by a judging panel and will perform alongside well known established musicians. Coventry born Terry Hall, lead singer of legendary 2Tone band The Specials, said: “I remember all too well how difficult it was to get a break into the industry in the early days. There’s a lot of local talent and I’d like to help give a hand up into the industry where I can.” Judge Peter Doherty, of The Libertines, said: “Now, more than ever, the next generation of musicians need our support. Live music is back in Coventry and the scene here is thriving. We’re proud to base our label in the area.” BBC CWR presenter Letitia George was also one of the judges. She spoke to local performer Izzie Derry after Izzie found out she'd been chosen to perform with John Grant in Coventry Cathedral on July 31st.
