Historic chandlery saved

A Portsmouth attraction has come to the rescue and saved the name of an historic chandlery. Arthur Beale was servicing sailors and explorer’s needs in London hundreds of years before HMS Warrior, HMS Victory and even Mary Rose took to the water. After its Shaftesbury Avenue home was sold the Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust offered premises, just yards from the historic ships.
