Division over future of Shaftesbury High Street pedestrianisation

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

A campaign to keep Shaftesbury High Street free from traffic on a permanent basis has divided opinion among traders and shoppers. The year long part-pedestrianisation has been extended by four weeks in line with the delay in lifting UK lockdown rules. Shaftesbury Town Council recently voted in favour of keeping the High Street as a car free zone. A final decision rests with Dorset Council.
