Remembering the victims of the City of Bristol steamer sinking

Breakfast on BBC Radio Bristol

Available for over a year

In 1840, the City of Bristol paddle steamer ran aground off the Welsh coast, with every passenger washed overboard and only two survivors. Many of those on board were from Pill in North Somerset. Now Lou Dixey, who lives in the village, is trying to organise a permanent memorial to them in the Welsh churchyard where they're buried.
