Peter Hellawell from Bournemouth was diagnosed with HIV in the 1980's. He says living with the virus, people 'treat you unreasonably because of their own fears, thoughts and prejudices'. Like one of the characters in the TV show, he had a mug he drank from destroyed by someone afraid of his HIV positive status.
