Pip Hare's Vendee Globe stories - shark-like dolphins, no cheese, and the 'accidental' two-hour sleep

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

Poole sailor Pip Hare has returned home. Now the 8th woman to complete the Vendee Globe round the world yacht race, we've been asking her for a few stories from her 95 days at sea. Whilst she was away, we broke the news to her of the first Covid vaccine approval, live on-air, whilst she was in the South Pacific. BBC Radio Solent's Dorset breakfast presenter, Steve Harris, managed to get her a birthday message from Russell Crowe. And Steve met her in Poole Quay yesterday to present her with a Dorset Care hamper. Pip told us about missing chocolate, seeing shark-like dolphins, and an 'accidental' two-hour longest sleep.
