Splitting their time between London and Berlin, Silkly Psyche have a genre-less sound heavily rooted in trip-hop and shoegaze. Producer/guitarist Kia Massoudi and singer/synth player Balthazar Conrad first met in 2019 and were joined by Ideen Azarnezhad in 2020. With roots in Jakarta, Tehran and Germany, each member draws on their experiences and cultural heritages to create a melting pot of sounds. Hazy, reverbed guitars, trippy synths and modulated vocals offer something unique and captivating, particularly in latest cut ‘High Moses’. Since Balthazar’s move to London in 2020 to study a masters at KCL, the band now create music by sending files to one another with the intention of releasing a steady flow of tracks over the coming months. The trio have four singles out to date, including ‘Frazzled’ which earned them their first spin on BBC Music Introducing in London and caught the ear of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens.
