Spain-based sister overwhelmed at 'happy birthday' community response for her brother

Lynette Broughton was born on Portland and now resides in Spain, a long way from her brother Bob Winter who lives in Weymouth. She misses Bob dearly and wanted to cheer him up on his birthday, so decided to post the following appeal on Facebook. “Could you take a little stroll past Number 9 and shout out HAPPY 72ND BIRTHDAY BOB!!! Yes it's an odd thing to ask however, for my brother, lockdown hasn't been very kind to him. This small gesture will go a long way to making his day extra special and a huge surprise for him!” The overwhelming response was more than Lynette and brother Bob could possibly have imagined. The Lanehouse resident was inundated with cards, cakes, chocolates and flowers.
