Steve HarrisAvailable for over a year
Thirty years ago this week, BBC Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman was serving in the Royal Navy during the first Gulf War as an air engineering technician looking after the airworthiness of two Portland-based helicopters on HMS Brilliant and HMS Brave. Inside 43 days, a US-led offensive of coalition forces helped to liberate Kuwait after its annexation by Iraq. Laurence has been sharing his memories of the war, and how he felt at the time with BBC Radio Solent presenter Steve Harris.
