Mid-morning on BBC Radio Leicester

Available for over a year

A Leicestershire GP surgery is offering vaccinations against Covid-19 from this afternoon. Heath Lane Surgery at Earl Shilton is one of thirteen practices in the county which is among the first to start vaccinating patients. Those in priority groups who are registered with practices in the Bosworth and Millennium (Leicester) primary care networks will be called in for the jab. NHS staff including pharmacists and paramedics will work alongside GPs to give jabs to people aged 80 and over, as well as care home workers and residents. BBC Radio Leicester's Helen McCarthy has been at Heath Lane Surgery at Earl Shilton where the vaccine arrived at 9am this morning.
