Katie Cornhill is a group manager at Dorset Fire & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, Currently based at Springbourne fire station in Bournemouth, Katie described to BBC Radio Solent reporter Laurence Herdman the hazards she faced on her turbulent journey to reach female gender affirmation five years ago, having lived four decades as male since her biological assignment at birth.
