Supporting global race for Covid-19 vaccine

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

BBC Radio Solent has been given exclusive 'behind the scenes' access to the north Dorset arm of Merck - a global science and technology company at the front line of the fight against coronavirus. This year has brought a challenge like no other the world has ever faced - and a network of scientists and doctors across the world has responded like never before. In Gillingham, Merck's state-of-the-art UK and Ireland distribution centre at Life Science UK Ltd has played a critical role to keep hospitals operating while they fight the virus - and supporting laboratories and universities in the the race to find a vaccine. The site ships out nearly 2 million units of chemical products each year to support the life science industry as part of its global supply chain.
