Strauss' Morgen (Tomorrow) was written in 1894, one of four songs he composed as a wedding present to his wife Pauline, the text was written by poet John Henry Mackay. With words full of hope for the future ("Tomorrow the sun will shine again"), and a bright clear melody, Morgen is clearly a song of confident optimism.
