How I found Prince's missing guitar (with the help of a CT scan)

Newsday

Available for over a year

During the 1980's the artist Prince only played on three cloud guitars - but one of them, his "blue angel" guitar featured on Purple Rain, has been missing for two decades. So when a similar guitar came up for auction recently, fan and cloud guitar expert, John Woodland, was determined to find out if it might be his hero's missing instrument. After conducting a CT scan on the guitar to ensure the structure and materials matched the correct model - he decided it was indeed Prince's Blue Angel Cloud 2. It's now expected to fetch a million dollars at auction. John Woodland told us more about the guitar. (Photo: Prince performs onstage during the 1984 Purple Rain Tour. Credit: Getty Images)
