The thread made from human cells

World Update

Available for over a year

A technique being developed in France has enabled thread to be created from human cells. The biological material is knitted using methods developed in the textile industry, and could be used to repair wounds and mend arteries. Dr Nicholas L'Heureux from the University of Bordeaux is leading the research. He says the technique has enormous potential for other uses in future. (Photo: Thread made from human cells.
