Blue Plaque for Moira O'Neill

The poet and novelist Moira O'Neill, whose real name was Agnes Higginson Shakespeare Screen, was a prolific writer. Her most famous book was 'Songs from the Glens of Antrim' and it was inspired largely by the landscape of the Glens. She died in 1864 having lived in Cushendun, and is now to be commemorated with a blue plaque at the Old Church in the village. Anne Marie McAleese went along to talk to Katy English, who is in charge of all things to do with the famous renovation of the church, and Dr James Morrow, who is an expert on Moira's work.
