Experience Classical

Available for over a year

Like the Élégie, this work was originally a piano work that Faure re-orchestrated for orchestra and optional choir. Featuring the rhythms from the slow processional Spanish court dance of the same name, the work is immensely popular, and has been covered by everyone from Iron Maiden to S Club 7, as well as the BBC's coverage for the 1998 World Cup. Composer: Gabriel Fauré Performers: BBC National Orchestra of Wales Conductor: Grant Llewellyn Recording date: 01 October 2000 Date of broadcast: 02 May 2001
