Experience Classical

This work is the only substantial composition for the arpeggione (a mix between a guitar and a cello), although nowadays transcribed for cello and piano. It was probably commissioned by Schubert's friend Vincenz Schuster, who was a virtuoso of the instrument, which had been invented only the previous year. Composer: Franz Schubert Performer: Lise Berthaud (Viola) Performer: François Pinel (Piano) Recording date: 09 March 2014 Date of broadcast: 22 April 2014
