Due to the popularity of his first set of Slavonic Dances, Dvořák’s publisher asked him to compose more. Initially he didn’t want to do it and wrote to the publisher saying “I am not at all in the mood…” but in the end he agreed. This second set of Slavonic Dances gives an introspective and colourful flavour of the Bohemian tradition.
