The volcano 'miracle' that saved our vineyard

The Food Chain

Available for over a year

When Mount Etna erupted in 1981 the resulting lava flow came within a few hundred metres of destroying the Fattorie Romeo del Castello vineyard, but at the last moment it changed direction. Owners Rosanna Romeo and her daughter Chiara Vigo describe the "miracle" that saved their property and the connection it forged between them and the volcano.
