Buddy is a beautiful black rooster who has made a remarkable recovery from a illness that left him wheelchair bound. He lives with Barbara Mladek at her refuge outside Moira - where many hens have been rescued from battery farms. They are now able to live out their lives in a little commune, laying their eggs and mooching round the farmyard with a menagerie of geese, guinea fowl, ducks, and an old pig from Newry called Vera. To say Barbara is dedicated is an understatement. She's changed her middle name by deed poll to Mama Hen, and she lives this particular dream 24/7...even down to the ringtone on her phone.
