Shaftesbury man proves his anti-fox-hunting feelings are a 'religion'

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

Something you'll hear a lot about over the next few months is the case of Jordi Casamitjana. He says he was sacked from his job, and has been discriminated against because he's an "ethical vegan" - and now in a landmark legal action, a tribunal will be asked to decide whether ethical veganism is a philosophical belief akin to a religion. That's a process that Joe Hashman from Shaftesbury has already been through. In 2011 he was at the centre of a similar case where he proved his anti fox hunting beliefs were considered equivalent to a philosophical belief.
