Three young men: Tyler, Kieran and Joe share their stories of how the YMCA – the world’s oldest youth charity – transformed their lives from a troubled childhood to a potentially bright future. They each told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Nihal Arthanayake how a horticultural course at the YMCA helped provide focus, education, support and friendship. Aged 16-19, they each discuss their upbringings, the challenges they face and how they hope to overcome them. Joe told Nihal: “I’m about half way up the mountain on who I want to be. I feel like I’m at home and welcome.”
