The lulling sound of the turning of the tide at Auchencairn Bay, Scotland

Breakfast

Available for over a year

The sea washes into a sandy area bordered by rocks draped in seaweed at Auchencairn Bay in southwest Scotland. This recording was captured by BBC sound recordist Nigel Tucker, and you can hear the sound of gently lapping waves on the beach from the incoming tide, accompanied by an oystercatcher in the distance. The image is of Balcary Bay, Auchencairn, in southwest Scotland, courtesy of GJ Thomson.
