Dame Louise Casey: Government needs to do more to tackle rough sleeping

Westminster Hour

Available for over a year

Former head of the Rough Sleepers Unit and “homelessness tsar” Dame Louise Casey has welcomed the £100m that the government has committed to dealing with the issue of rough sleeping. However, she said the number of people sleeping on the streets was at "an incredible high" and that the money pledged may not be enough to achieve the government's aim of eliminating the problem by 2027.
