Lou Hannan

Available for over a year

It's well known the cruise industry is worth millions to the local economy. It's not just the businesses that service the ships and their passengers that benefit. The cruise lines employ hundreds of crew on board, many of them unseen by the public. A group of girls from Portsmouth High School found out what's it like to work on board a modern cruise ship as they went on board Royal Princess in Southampton. The tour was designed to show them what opportunities are likely to be available particularly in the science, technical, engineering or mathematics areas. BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley joined them on their access all areas tour.
