How gardening can be hard on the environment

Radio 4 in Four

Available for over a year

Plastic is a big and increasing problem with tools and utensils used in gardening increasingly being made out of oil-based non-recyclable material. Since the BBC’s Blue Planet programme there has been a move towards reusing and recycling. The Horticultural Trades Association has just launched a new plastic recycling scheme for plant pots and seed trays. Kate Hollsworth talks to Jonathan Bryers, from Gordale Garden Centre on the Wirral. First broadcast on You & Yours, 4 June 2018.
