Philip Roth: Never Letting Go

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

The death of writer Philip Roth earlier this week saw with it the loss of one of America's pre-eminent figures in 20th-century literature. Down the decades Roth came to be associated with the generation of writers who pursued the Great American Novel - a work that captured the essence of the country at a particular moment in time - but also with a distinctive brand of muscular prose and preoccupation with male sexuality and identity. Isabel Fraser speaks to Dr Catherine Morley Associate Professor in American Literature at University of Leicester about Roth’s work and legacy in the time of resurgent feminist activism.
