Stranglers back Guildford music venue after noise complaint

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

The Stranglers have tweeted their support for a music venue in Guildford after the borough council started investigating complaints about noise. A neighbouring office block was recently turned into flats. The Starr Inn on Quarry Street has hosted rock & folk acts for decades. It is where the Stranglers played their first gig. The council says its investigation continues but its leader Paul Spooner has tweeted there is "no risk to this fantastic venue under his tenure". He says he intends to resolve the issue with council officers later this week. BBC Surrey's Joshua Searle reports.
