Could regular saunas reduce your risk of a stroke?

Health Check

Available for over a year

Saunas are a part of everyday life in countries like Finland as a way to relax with friends and family. Now a new study suggests that sitting in the heat could also help to reduce the risk of having a stroke by as much as 60%. Dr Setor Kunutsor from Bristol Medical School believes that a lowering of the blood pressure might be responsible for the results he found. (Photo: Sauna in Finland. Credit: Getty Images)
