'It just gives her total independence'

Steve Harris

Available for over a year

Mary is just 65 but developed rheumatoid arthritis in 1977. Since then she's had 29 surgeries, 4 strokes and nearly lost her life to sepsis. Her husband Barry is her main carer - and it was his idea to use Amazon's Echo device, "Alexa" in a slightly different way than just asking for the weather forecast. Barry spoke to Steve Harris on Breakfast in Dorset, along with Claire Collett an occupational therapist with Dorset County Council.
