Why half the world may need glasses by 2050

The prevalence of myopia, or short-sightedness, is increasing around the world and current estimates suggest than half the world’s population will need glasses by 2050. Why is our vision becoming increasingly blurry? Professor Tan from Singapore’s National Eye Centre explains that a combination of too much time reading books or playing computer games as well as too little time outside is causing rates to skyrocket.
