Leach Grove Wood 'saved'

Breakfast on BBC Radio Surrey

Available for over a year

The NHS has hit back after the Appeal Court stepped in to stop a wood in Leatherhead being pulled down and built on. People living next to Leach Grove Wood have managed to protect it with "village green" status. But NHS property services says that is incompatible with getting value from its land to benefit the NHS and patients - and it's considering what to do next. The Appeal Court has also given similar protection to a site in Lancashire. Kate Ashbrook at the Open Spaces Society says that'll help other green areas.
