5 Live Breakfast

Available for over a year

The family of 14-year-old Nell Jones, who was killed in the Manchester attack, have told BBC Radio 5 live, "we are different people now than we were before". 22 people died in a suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester in May 2017. Nell's mum Jayne and dad Ernie, and her two brothers Sam and Joe, told Rachel Burden that the grief can get overwhelming: “We are different people now than we were before.” The family were speaking just before what would have been Nell's 15th birthday. They have set up a charity in memory of Nell to improve the lives and wellbeing of young people in north west England - #rememberingnell.
