Hostels built with plastic waste

World Business Report

Available for over a year

A surf hostel in the Philippines uses non-recyclable, single-use plastic waste to build its walls. These 'eco-bricks' are intended to reduce the amount of plastic which ends up in landfill or oceans, harming marine life - especially in Asia, the world's biggest contributor to ocean waste. Bottles and sachets are all embedded in almost every part of The Circle Hostel, as the BBC's Howard Johnson reports from Urbiztondo beach in the Philippines' La Union province.
