With the Glasgow Comedy Festival is underway and one of its principal attractions is a one-woman show by Elaine C Smith. Making her return to the festival after an absence for more than a decade, the singer, actor, comedian, writer and now-legendary pantomime dame, has become a fixture on the theatrical and broadcasting landscape of Scotland. She is also a prominent feminist and high profile campaigner for and supporter of Scottish independence. In this week’s Long Interview, BBC arts correspondent Pauline McLean spoke to Elaine about her life and career.
