Talking newspaper provides news service to the blind

Lou Hannan

Available for over a year

Local newspapers have for years provided a very local news service for their readers. But there is a huge section of the community for whom reading a newspaper isn't an option. For those who are blind or partially sighted, there is a UK network of over 500 talking newspapers. One of them is Fareport Talking News. They send hundreds of copies of their audio edition every week. And as BBC Radio Solent's Neil Sackley found out when he visited their recording studio, it's a totally free service.
