The Five Star Jail

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

It was probably the world's most expensive prison: the £650 minimum per room per night 5 star Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is where some of the Saudi Royal family and prominent business men were being held from November until the end of January. They were arrested under an anti-corruption purge which Saudi authorities say has netted £106 billion pounds. Gillian Marles spoke to Madawi Al Rasheed, a Saudi expert at the London School of Economics, how this came to pass.
