Massive investment in Suffolk cinema

Stephen Foster

Available for over a year

More than £2.5 million pounds is being invested in the Regal Theatre in Stowmarket. It will allow it to compete with the 'big boys' in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds, according to the leader of Mid Suffolk District Council. The authority has just agreed to put in more than one-and-a-half million, as well as loaning the town council a million. Cllr Nick Gowrley says it will bring benefits beyond the theatre itself.
