The Royals boss Jaap Stam got his first win in nine games with victory over Stevenage. Reading ran out 3-0 winners, with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson scoring a hat-trick for the first time since he joined the club. "You're always looking for a win," Stam told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "Everybody knows in the last couple of weeks we haven't had a lot of them. "It's good to have a win, to go to the next round. "It's gives a bit of extra confidence to the players." But Stam still thinks Stevenage made it tricky, despite the one-sided scoreline. "When they had the ball they played quite direct. "When we won it, we brought it back into midfield, they then try to win that second ball. "They succeeded in the first twenty to twenty five minutes."
