Tourism Vs Turbines

Good Morning Scotland

Available for over a year

The outgoing head of Mountaineering Scotland took a swipe at the Scottish government over the issue of wind farms. He criticised the building of turbines which, as he sees it, spoil the countryside, claiming "It is not sustainable for the first minister or VisitScotland to trumpet Scotland as the best country in the world to visit while these large windfarms are being built on such a scale." Green MSP, Andy Wightman and the explorer, mountaineer and writer, Cameron McNeish discuss the competing interests of exploiting the potential of wind energy whilst retaining the country's natural beauty.
