We’re looking ahead to Independent Venue Week It is exactly what you might expect – it’s a week of celebrating Independent Venues – which is great for all kinds of reasons - first of all so many have been threatened with closure due to licensing issues, because of people moving into city centers and complaining about the noise. And these places are so important, because they provide a platform for musicians in the early stages of their careers. But there are venues of all shapes and sizes taking part – everything from the Grayston Unity pub in Halifax through to the troxy in London which has around 3000 capacity … 187 official venues this year Elizabeth spoke to the founder Sybil Bell about their plans for 2018.
