How can a souvenir baby scan help a nervous pregnant woman?

Woman's Hour

Available for over a year

There are currently 93 baby scan clinics registered with the Care Quality Commission. These clinics offer parents-to-be the chance to buy photographs of their unborn baby and print them onto ornaments. Only 15 of these clinics have been inspected. But why are souvenir baby scans becoming rapidly popular? And are there any dangers? Kathryn Scatchard is the owner of Early Days Baby Scan, a clinic in Wakefield. Christoph Lees works at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Jane Garvey speaks to both of them.
