Since 1927, going to the Palais in Leicester was a right of passage for most local people. Originally a rather swish dance hall, where two bands would play waltzs and foxtrots, the Palais adapted through the years... attracting new generations of youngsters. But the 1970s really was a time of change....as Bridget Blair found out when she met up with the man who Dee Jayed there then....
