Reading FC: 'We try to please' the fans

Weekend Kick-Off

Available for over a year

Royals boss Jaap Stam is still happy with the fans ahead of his side's return to the Madejski. After the draw against Hull last weekend, Stam asked the fans indirectly during an interview with BBC Radio Berkshire, 'If you can only make noise if you are negative then why do you need to come to the stadium?'. "It's not like that I'm not happy with the fans," Stam told BBC Radio Berkshire's Tim Dellor. "It's been blown a bit out of proportion. "We're still very happy with them, we try to please them, we try to make them feel good." And Stam knows that the players will need the fans when playing against Norwich on Saturday. "It's another big game, a good team, everybody knows that. "Of course, at home...you want to get results, that's what we're trying to do. We'll keep on fighting."
